Ben,
If I were you , I would add an oil temperature gauge. Until then I would do
two things; keep the oil level just above the bottom line on the dip stick
to minimize windage and keep your speed under 65 mph.
  I notice the oil starts creeping up around 230 degrees above 65 on my
truck. In fact, oil temperature regulates my hiway speeds more than anything
else.
