Did a little work over the weekend to prepare for an upcoming trip. The Hummer awning we got last year works fine, but I wanted to do away with the guy lines and pegs that secure it when erected, so I thought I'd try mounting it so that the supports run to the van's jack points.

This seems to work acceptably, but we lose a little height at the outer edge because the poles at max length are now the hypotenuse instead of the upright of a right angle. I also realize the supports may limit chair placement as the patch of shade moves during the day and that more tweaking is in the works, but this is fine for now and it is kinda fun to drive (carefully) around like this.

Stephen
