John et al.

I am in the process of this process myself. Armed with a yard full of vans, a welder and a sawzall *grins.

Our donor was taken down to the bare rolling chassis (stripped of it's body) by the PO In an attempt to make a syncro Thing. But decided against the labor and work and passed the chassis along.. It was (and is) all we need for our project..

But I'm going out tonight to take some Digi pics and measurements. This is far easier with the body removed, and I'm sure will assist some in their Syncro conversion concerns.

Pmail me and I'll Pmail you back images if interested.

Dan Stevens

Hi all. Not that anyone will recall me as it is my every 3-4 year return to the list, but shit I was one of the near originals, and damn I miss the one real list. (Joel, you still hanging around, stat is now 3 Vanagons in AK, and a '78 Scirocco, and a bus or two, and two 2.5 liter EV engines and a near new auto tranny for one in the garage.)

Anyway no reminiscing, subject line says it all, and yeah, I delved through the now inane archives, and looked at the words on the syncro yahoo groups site, but I want to talk to a human that has done it, by pmail and perhaps by phone. Never did look that hard to me, and I know a lot of people have done it successfully now, if you are one of those people and don't mind the chatting, please drop me an email. This will be either a '86 or '88 syncro (depending on which I decide is worse to cut up in the driveway) onto an '87 automatic (yeah I know but the body is pristine) Country Homes camper. The other direction is not warranted body wise onto either syncro particularly.

Thanks to anyone who can help, sorry to waste bandwidth to those who can't.

John Anderson
