Kelvin electronics seems to have them: kelvin.com They are not as well known as the companies you mentioned, but they have been around quite a while. They sell a lot of kits for the educational market. Yes, it might be wise to bypass the output with a capacitor, especially if you don't have a scope to check for oscillation.
