If you chose to go with something "mainstream" and make a hole (which i
don't see as a huge deal), i recogmend against hose clamps. I was recently
replacing my pipes, and it had both the stock zipties, and hose clamps. The
problem I see with hose clamps is the situation i got into....
The previous owner did go ahead and buy nice stainless steel hose
clamps....but the screw section was regular steel. So, now they wouldnt move
at all due to rust and i had to cut them. Cutting through hose clamps with a
set of flush cutters, is not all that pleasant. Zipties don't rust.......at
least no plastic Ziptie i've ever seen.
Go get some big zipties, and go to town.
