I want to build some shower stalls for both my 83.5 Westy and my EV MV. I like the design I see at http://tinyurl.com/27nhge . I know I can buy something similar right now but they are $250 each and that $500 is being put aside for when my engine blows. I don't want a free standing shower because it looks like a shower and attracts the park rangers and their grey water collection speech. (Please don't start the grey water argument again...) Anyway, I'm going to make ones that look like the attached photo except I'd like to add some screens too. After looking for fabrics on the web I discovered that waterproof fabrics can be pretty expensive. Perhaps this is why the German pre-made versions of these are $250. I don't want to do the blue-tarp route either. I found a fabric locally called "Sport Nylon" it's nice and thin and appears like it would pack up well. A small writeup can be found at http://tinyurl.com/234grr . I also found some vinyl but it's too think. Is anybody familiar with this "Sport Nylon" product and do you think it would work? If I move forward with this I may make some for some listmembers too if it turns out OK. Thanks, Bryan |
