What viscosity oil are you using? (20w-50 or 15w-50 synthetic). Is the engine staying cool at highway speeds or is the radiator giving up the ghost? Is the oil pressure sender good and the correct rating? Is the oil level proper? Between the marks, not at the "Max" line. Is the inside of the engine fairly clean or is carbon gunk blocking the pump inlet screen? Since it is rebuild, does the oil pump have the proper cover gasket?

Dennis

My oil light flickers after long highway driving. Which is more likely to look at if its loosing pressure. This is a reconditioned engine, having about 90k in it. Maybe they did not change bearings at all and I could change at least the conrod bearings without splitting the case. This is a 1.9 engine and as I know, they need to be line bored after splitting. Or should I use some even thicker oil? What kind? Anyone? Zoltan
