There is a movement afoot to stop emissions testing in BC because newer cars are low output polluters. I am dead against this.

Before AirCare, the roads were filled with cars running way rich and/or puffing blue smoke. In the part of the province that tests for emissions, these cars are forced into compliance. A while ago, when we were over on the Island, where there is no testing, I smelled that over-rich-with-a-little-oil smell that used to be so prevalent and it brought back memories.

And by the way, our Vanagons have no trouble passing, Mike. :)
