Thanks Bob, that is exactly where the wear is on my OE pump! Any
thoughts on putting the new Schadeck gears in the old pump housing?  I
can get the old top gear to move laterally ever so slightly in the OE
pump case.  When I put the new gears in the OE pump body there is
little, if any, lateral play, but I can still get my smallest feeler
gauge in between the gears and the pump body.

That's my thinking on the aftermarket oil pumps as well.
If the wear marks are on the top right side of the OEM housing then I
reuse
them.
I have compared the pump housings and they seem to measure the same BUT
they
are loose in the case as you stated and the loss of pressure around the
housing is of concern

I wrote this a little over a year ago to doug in Ca. It covers a little
more
than pumps but it is relivant
