I was the second person to answer an ad in the local paper. (December 1993) The bus' owner was unaware of the response he was about to get.

The first people who looked at it turned up their noses, evidently deciding it was filthy. They didn't ask any questions, nor even seek a test drive. We looked and saw a fully functional Westy that merely needed a bit of detailing.

Did I mention that the bus was priced $3,000 below the Kelly Book value? By the time we showed up, the owner had been fielding calls from VW dealers, but he honoured his original price.

Thanks, picky people! We've been enjoying your piece of crap for 12 years, 180,000 miles, 44 states, two Canadian provinces, and Baja, California.
