I know this has been harped on the list often but I feel it can't be said too many times. Here's my story: I have been working on replacing the o-ring for the oil cooler. While doign this I was urged to change the rubber and metal lines that go to and from the vooler. Made sense to I did that as well. Well, after being under the bus for a while (I know this is like a 15min job for most but this is me we are talking about) I decided to step away for a minute. I went in the house and it was only then that I noticed the smell of gas. Not sure why I didn't smell it outside - maybe because it was pretty windy. Gas smell didn't make sense to me at all - so I went out to take a look, and what did I discover? Well, one of the hose clamps that holds the fuel line to the fuel rail was broken - not rusted - just broken - and of course it was leaking a bit. I'm very glad I haven't been driving it and that I noticed before I did. So moral of the story - listen to the list wisemen who say: Inspect and change those fuel lines :) -- Thanks, Jeff '90 Carat (Grover) '86 (We call this one Parts) '78 Bus (Melissa) Patty's Bus |
