They've been around awhile; they even have a splitty camper on their homepage at http://www.sportsmobile.com/ . I have a picture of one of their '70's bay window conversions and it is the tackiest thing you ever saw. Big vinyl seat cushions, shag carpet, looks like from an Austin Powers movie. I wonder if any are still around... Did they ever do Vanagons? For about 90-100K you can get yourself a 4x4 Sportsmobile. I know, bigger than a Westy, horrible fuel economy, not as fun to drive, etc. and while most of us on this list wouldn't consider one of these, for the general population out there that don't know/don't care what a Vanagon or a Westy is, this is an alternative.
