James, remove valves. Get a valve compressor or got to a shop. When out, clean them with a dremel / wire mesh. Clean the inside near the crack pass the valve seat.

If the crack is pass the valve seat... i would not use this one. On the next picture i'm showing a loose valve seat, sorry to show you that but it think it's more easy to understand what is a valve seat (sorry if you already know). http://www.benplace.com/valve_seat/seat6.jpg

what i'm trying to explain is that the crack is always in between valves, what you need to be sure it's that it's not also pass or and under the seat. In most case, if' it's pass the seat (more inside the head, it's to long and risky to use them. I know, i saw a head in 2 last year... but i can't find the pictures on my site????
