Subject: LVC. MIG welding tip for beginners
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1

Hi all.

Couldn't figure out why my welds were getting worse. Work ground quality? Maybe a little. Wire speed? Kinda. Voltage? Not really.

I purge the gun line of gas when I shut down for the day. (not sure if this is correct. I'll find out)

What I did: close tank valve, then reg, release wire tensioner, turn on, press gun trigger. Each I released wire tensioner I must have been decreasing (turning CCW) wire tension. I had a feeling it might be a wire feed issue so I read the manual, and put the tension back to where it was. Better welds.

Tip: Check wire roller tension.

My exhaust for the Vanagon will be better now. (VC --- ;^)
