Once the valves are properly set up, routine valve adjustments are not needed on the Water boxer. In fact, once the adjusting screws and valve stems wear into each other, adjustments can be detrimental to the valve stems. The lifters can easily take up 2mm adjustment in either direction. If the valve stems stretch or the seats recede or something moves more than that, you need a repair, not an adjustment.
