Some time ago there was a discussion about this, but I have a
question that I don't think was asked: When installing a new blower
motor, is it advisable to add some sort of lubricant as a preventive
measure?


My brand new motor is not entirely silent when you spin it, it was an
unbelievable PITA to get at,  so naturally anything that would
prolong its life would be a very good thing.    The Vanagonaut files
include a suggestion from Frank Condelli to glue some sort of plastic
cap over the exposed end of the bearing to protect it from outside
air,  so I'm wondering if it would also be a good idea to apply
something like bicycle chain lubricant for additional protection
under that cap.
