Interesting. As it turns out, 1.25" EMT is actually 1.5" OD, so it won't fit the upper hose. And the lower hose will accept 1" EMT, but it is a slightly loose fit. I've got other possibilities like copper, (though I haven't found a 90* connector for it yet) aluminum, welding up some mild steel pipe, marine pipe at 90*, or just build it with two pieces of flexible rad hose and some barbed fittings.
