I don't understand ... of course you have to bend the lines because you're inserting the Extend-a-Stay between the tank's valve and the regulator. The regulator must go forward by the amount of space the Extend-a-Stay "T" takes up. The lines forward of (output side of the regulator) have to be bent so they'll accommodate the regulator's new position. Mike Houlton, Maine
