The one we sell is the genuine Westfalia replacement part, the same one the VW dealer used to sell for $120 or something crazy like that. The 3-way knob always has been a bit tight, especially when new. This is characteristic of the design. Reliability has generally been good (other than one batch a year or two ago, that were simply assembled wrong and leaked badly from the get-go).
