I also dislike the volume buttons. I bought a stereo with a remote thinking that it would be really cool to use when in the back of the van. I have taken to storing it in the instrument cluster and using it to change the volume when driving. Sure, it still uses buttons, but it is easier to locate the button on the remote than leaning over and looking down at the stereo.

Sorry, I can't remember the brand or model of the stereo.
