Subject: Electrical question re: Jetta conversion ign. coil supply
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1

Hi all.

Gosh I hope I'm not wearing out me "welcome" here..... --- :^)

I'm in the middle of wiring up engine control stuff and not sure how to get "keyed" supply from 15 of ignition switch to Jetta coil.

1994 Jetta Bentley shows a #12 wire going to coil from 15. 1981 Vanagon Bentley shows #16 or smaller to coil.

Where can I run a proper gauge wire from?

One wire from 15 on ign switch goes to back of S12 then to coil. S12 supplys power to horn, back up lite etc. Should I tap in at the back of S12 with #12 wire and run it to the back or is there an easier way?

For some reason, I thought I could get "keyed" power from one of the starter connections, but that is wrong.

Apologies if this has been answered before.

TIA for any help.

Neil.
