The PO of my van (or more likely, the jackass he had "fix" it) installed a piece of EMT as a shunt in place of the leaking rear heater. By the time it got to me, it was a corroded, oozing mess. Trouble with EMT is that it's just galvanized mild steel (to keep it bendable). It's perfectly good for keeping rain out of your house wiring, but not quite so good as high pressure, high temperature plumbing. EMT would probably work just fine for you application, but I don't think I'd be able to sleep thinking about how much rust might be forming...
