As I posted yesterday, there are plenty of online sources. I've seen them as low as $11 shipped to your door. Not everybody has a piece of flat iron lying about about. A suitable piece from bought from a hardware store will cost a bunch more than $11. I like opening my mailbox and finding the correct tool when I can't get them locally. "Different strokes for different folks", as they say. My point is home-brewed solutions often cost more than the correct one plus takes more time to fabricate.
