I used a lot of copper in my subie conversion. Made the ridge by soldering on a ring of the next larger size pipe or slice of fitting. Spent hours in the plumbing aisles of hardware and home centers. To reduce the corrosion it's a good idea to not let the copper be in electrical contact with the chassis.
