My clock wasn't running when I got Mellow Yellow. I replaced the capacitors, it continued not to run. A year or so later, I had the dash out to try installing a clock from an '86 (I think it was) and found that the '86 doesn't fit. But in the process I discovered that the foil that connects to the clock's ground tab had a crack in it, preventing current from passing through the clock. A bit of wire to jumper the clock's ground tab to a nearby ground point and the clock works. My suggestion? Disconnect the + and ground foil tabs from the lugs on the rear of the clock and directly apply +12 and chassis to those two lugs. If the clock works, check your foils, if it doesn't then it's internal to the clock.

Pardon if this has already been suggested -- I came aboard the thread late.
