I was thinking about doing a similar thing for the ridge.
Ironically, the HD near me that *doesn't* carry lumber, (!) had more
copper fittings than Rona.
Still couldn't find a 1.25" 90* elbow. :(
FWIW for others, the 1.25" EMT I found is actually 1.5" OD.
I'll keep hunting for copper. If I can't find it, and if mild steel
pipe comes in 1.25", then I'll butt weld a couple of 45* pieces.
