Sounds very good.
Yup, 83 to 85 1.9 waterboxers use a single wire 02,
And the next step up from that is the 3 wire one, and two of those are just
for 02 heat, to keep it hot enough to always give a nice output.
I just tested a new one I put on an 87, and oddly, at first it was 'stuck'
at .9 volts -like full rich perhaps.
After while though, it was really switching fast, going from .2 to .9 volts
a few times a second practically.
An OBD-II SVX Subaru has 3 oxygen sensors, one for each back . Yeah, dig
that, individual mixture adjustment/feeback PER BANK . and you better get
the right 02 wires going to the right bank ......otherwise it gets very
confused, and being OBD-II there's one sensor after the cat too.
All fun.
Glad to hear your putting the ecu under the back seat.
Keep up the good work.
Helps to be on another phase of the job, eh ?
Sounds like the discouraged phase is past now.
Scott

Thanks Scott.
For sure am putting ECM under rear seat. Already have a hole leftover
from the gas heater for wires to run through.
I didn't know Vanagon (post '86) had *heated* O2 sensors.
I guess I could run wires forward for relays, but they should be fine
in the engine bay. If I had any doubts about crap getting in the relay
box, I sure wouldn't put them there! --- :^)
