A pic or 2 of mine. Tom and John are spot on with one of the providers here in Salt Lake. Aircooled.net, John Connoly. There is no inexpensive way to bend the material bumpers are made of. That's why they're so $$$$. They look nice if you like the look and I happen to), but they suffer a little when you get into extreme or aggressive offroading. They decrease the approach and mine have a couple "suffermarks" where they kissed large rocks ... but they are stout. My van has been pulled out of a canyon (broken RR CV, left with front wheel drive) behind a '72 Toyota Landcruiser with a strap hooked to a ball in the front 2" receiver. You can have the bumpers made anyway you want them, I happen to have receivers on both ends. The diamond plate is welded to the top of the top tube to act as a flat/standing surface, not a screwed-on add-on, and the space between the 2 tubes has a solid piece of steel welded in. http://groups.msn.com/BobsPhotoShare/87westysyncro.msnw video of Eric Abercrombie coming up Lathrop Canyon where my CV broke: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=txNT9AOyn08&feature=email My van coming up .. listen for the "pop" just before the R-front wheel spins: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=3Q4UXyjSlPs&feature=email Bob Stevens '87 Syncro Westy > > Nicest Tube Bumpers I've seen yet,> > are sold by a company in UT.> > called Aircooled, I believe.> > & the owner is on this list-John Connolly?-I believe that Bob Stevens> has them on "Passion Fruit", his 87 Syncro Westy?> > http://aircooled.net/new-bin/catsearch.php?> categoryid=EXG&cmd=list&perpage=> > YMMV,> > Mr. BZ _________________________________________________________________ Get in touch in an instant.
