Sit with it idling for 5 minutes after the engine is warmed up and see where the temp gauge goes. If it gets too hot too fast then there is either a problem with the cooling system or more likely there is air in the cooling system that needs to be bled out. Even so, I'd rather have a WBX with 200K miles on it and a well functioning cooling system then a new engine that has been allowed to overheat every chance it gets.
