Hi all... I haven't posted to the list in a while. I still have my '85 Vanagon GL and I just got a bit of a shock when I called the local frame and axle place (Coralville Frame and Axle) and was given the "brush off." They don't want to do suspension work on my Vanagon because they say they have no idea where to get parts for it and they don't want to work on "rust." For one thing, there's no rust (it doesn't get driven in winter up here). Are suspension parts actually that hard to find? I told this guy (he was pretty unpleasant) that I'd locate the parts he would need to restore the suspension. But it sounds like I might have to locate another frame and axle shop to get this work done anyway. Any suggestions from list members who might be around eastern Iowa and western Illinois?
