Folks,

I went under the van today to find the source of a new coolant leak. It appeared to be coming from the left side large steel coolant pipe that bolts to the waterpump housing. I put a 13mm socket on the 2 flange bolts. the top one turned about 1/2 turn to snug it up and the bottom one turned over a full turn! What's going on here? Hopefully, that's all it needed, but if necessary, I'll take one at a time out, apply some permatex goop on the threads to assist with staying tight. Any ideas on why this happened? I'll see if it leaks overnight tonight. BTW, it's an '87 2.1 auto Westy (no a/c) with under 90K miles total.

Mike B.
