Just over a year ago I had a problem with my turn signal relay (I thought) and it turned out not to be the relay or the socket per se ... but where the wires pushed on at the rear of the relay socket. Unplugging the wires and cleaning things up cured the intermittent problem which included ... tapping on the relay would make it work sometimes.

You might want to at least try cleaning those connectors and checking those wires and see if things improve.
