Restoring some power by releasing and then stepping on the gas indicates
fuel starvation. Was the fuel pressure tested? You may have a clogged
filter, bad pump, or a fuel clogged tank outlet.

The continuing saga of my rich running 88' Westy:

So I disconnected the OX sensor again, this time both wires, went for a
test
drive and saw no change. It runs even worse now actually. Killed three
times
at a standing idle, loses power while driving and I have to release then
depress the accelerator in order to get power restored. The RPMs go up
like
they should, then drop. My van has never ever run like this. My mechanic
told me he replaced the starter relay, groundstrap, and adjusted the
transmission. He said it was not changing gears properly. He tested the
ECU,
Temp II Sensor, and I tested the OX as described above. After he has
"adjusted" what he said, it has more power accelerating, and seems to go
to
higher RPMs before changing to next gear then previously. What happened to
my van?! Aaaarrrgggghhhh....
