Take a look at the fitting. It is a center machined manifold with male and female POL fittings simply screwed into each end. Remove the female fitting. It will be tough as they seal it with some really good loc-tite type product. Now, look the regulator. Remove the male POL fitting on that and then use a short 1/4" npt pipe nipple, (brass) to connect the two. You just saved an inch to inch and a half of lenght.

Now, if you have the deluxe extend a stay, you can also remove the male POL and place it on the other side of the manifold. This will allow you to install it with the small or inlet hose connection facing down and angle the large hose connection so a hose will fit between the lower palte and van body. A smal hole drilled in the plate will allow the small hose to connect from underneath.
