Subject: Home at Last... My very own 87 Wolfsburg
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1; format=flowed

Hi Volks,

Well, I have gone and done it now... I have finally succumbed and bought myself a wasserboxer. It's a 1987 Wolfsburg 7-passenger hardtop camper which I purchased from Salem Import Service en route to EveryBus. I imported it into Canada and on the way home I dropped it off at my local VW specialist yesterday to have a safety certification done. They called me back today to tell me it passed with flying colours.

It's a little rough around some of the edges, but the driveline and chassis are solid and I am always open for a challenge (within reason). Most of the details are pretty minor: the carpets need cleaning, there are two spots of seam rust to deal with, the wheels need a repaint and the bumper has a crack in it. On the plus side, the 7-passenger layout makes for a LOT of available interior space. I have the same interior layout in my baywindow westfakia and quite like it. Funnily enough I often found myself trying to throw things on the upper bunk... that is going to be a hard habit to kick.

If you thought I had a lot of questions before.... You just wait and see. This new one is planned to be my 4-season daily driver for the next couple of years.

Near term need/want list, email if you have these items for sale CHEAP: - Curtains - exhaust bracket from 2.1L engine block. - trailer hitch

Happy Trails,

Greg Potts 1973/74/79 Westfakia "Bob the Tomato" 1987 Wolfsburg 7-passenger. www.busesofthecorn.com www.pottsfamily.ca
