RE: Traveling the Oregon/California Coast in July Lots of campgrounds along that route (101 and 1) but I have no experience during the 'season' along there with camping. I can tell you to expect heavy traffic all down the Oregon coast and down through California. And heavy traffic through there means slow traveling. But a great drive, I've done it in both directions a couple of times. Also be aware that Summer is the time they will be doing major repairs on the roads, especially along Hwy 1 in California, got to fix the damage that occurs most winters along there.
