Subject: Re-Engineering Vapor Recovery
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1; format=flowed

Hello,

Has anyone attempted to re-engineer the complicated vapor recovery and gas tank vent system? I have owned my '84 since new and have worked on this many times with little lasting success. The plastic tanks crack, the plastic parts break, and the grommets leak. There have been few times in the last 20 years that I couldn't smell gas in the front wheel wells. Even if the parts were commonly available, the access is so bad that no one would wish to replace them.

I am aware of the kits sold by the Bus Depot, but I was looking at doing a permanent fix.

Thanks, Mike
