Mrs Squirrel and I just got back from Bend, Oregon. We think we're gonna move there. We spent quite a time canvassing the Westside district, looking for a house (found a few that seem to suit us). We must have seen 50 Vanagon Westies, 20 Vanagons, an even dozen baywindows, and quite a few baywindow Westies -- all in that one district! Maybe a couple splitties, and more than a handful of aircooled bugs. (Almost wrote "aircooled butts," which is a whole different story.) Mellow Yellow will feel right at home there! The large population of running Vanagons suggests that there might be a good mechanic or two up there that knows these idiosyncratic vehicles. -- Mike "Rocket J Squirrel" Elliott 71 Type 2: the Wonderbus 84 Westfalia: Mellow Yellow ("The Electrical Banana") 74 Utility Trailer.
