I remember reading recently that if the O2 sensor is grounding, it will cause hesitation off idle. Well i have this problem exactly.... And i recall reading that the single wire to the O2 sensor on my '85 is a coaxial wire, and that if its not maintained as a coaxial wire, it will default to ground and will give me exactly this problem. Well, i recently replaced the wire from the connector to the O2 sensor with a non Coaxial piece of wire..... I now know that i need to get in there and fix that up properly with Coaxial cable, but i guess my question is, how does that work? If its coaxial cable (A cable inside a cable) that works essentially as two wires, how can it operate with a simple spade connector? Wouldn't that alone default it to ground? If not....how do i keep the two parts seperated through a spade connector, and reattached at the other end? Or should this not make a difference at all because the outer bit of the wire is only there for shielding? -Craig '85Gl |
