Re: 'in case the motor gets moved' part of your email. Good point. In
terms of the potential design, I also worry about long term movement
of the fuel hose, as it moves with motor, (idle, torque) against
stationary parts. i.e. firewall, or other parts. Also.....
I had occasion to think that IF the serp (engine accessory belt) blew,
it could whip (cut) across the 2" or so of fuel lines as they would
run at 90* to the serp belt, IF I routed them that way. Though this
"whip" would be a far fetched scenario, I want to do it right. Maybe a
guard of some kind to protect the fuel lines. Mind you, if that did
happen, and the guard failed to do its' job, the fuel would pour onto
the crank/timing belt area. And RIGHT OVER THE MUFFLER ! --- ;^)
Yeesh!
I need a fuel rail that has inlets at the opposite end! --- :^)
The hardest part about this install, (conversion) is that I'm kind of
redesigning things as I go along. i.e. the passenger side Fox engine
mount bracket. There are 2 areas on it that require removal of metal
to allow room for the water pump hoses. Not to mention removal of
metal to facilitate removal of the oil cooler. And removal of metal to
clear the oil filter. For the newbie (me) this takes way more time as
it brings up added the added question of safety. I'm trying to
incorporate all these things as a I go along. This is not easy.
