I have a 96 Olds 88 LS that I use as a business road car. It will go 500 miles of non stop highway on less than 17 gallons of gas. Drives my passengers crazy. Not bad for an old guy.

The GM 3800 V6 is supposed to be one of "the 10 best engines of the 20th century"

I know of a lot of people who think those are really great engines.
