They did have rotary controls, but they are surely cable-operated. VW didn't have the idea (unlike BMW or Mercedes) that the ideal was to fit needless unreliable Bosch electrics for every conceivable item plus one. The NECESSARY unreliable Bosch items were all that they fitted. Like windows. And EFI.

I hate to think how the T3 ABS worked... or didn't.

My Holden V6 conversion had the exhaust running forward to a small muffler on the midline forward of the trans, with inlet/outlet on the rear end; then back to the rear. The only worry was ground-clearance, but this wasn't really an issue.

The rear-pillar vents are in the normal place, though the vents themselves are modified from the German originals. But these are engine-compartment vents in all versions. The only cabin outlet vents in T3s are those in the cab doors. I don't think you can say that T3s had flowthrough ventilation, unlike 1956+ T1s (which had extraction louvers in the rear pillars). -- Andrew Grebneff Dunedin New Zealand Fossil preparator Seashell, Macintosh, VW/Toyota van nut ‚ Opinions stated are mine, not those of Otago University "There is water at the bottom of the ocean" - Talking Heads
