Subject: Best fuel line transition/routing? (Jetta conversion) (PICS)
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1

Hi all.

Looking for the best (safest) way to route fuel line to the Jetta 2.0 I've installed.

My ideas.

Option #1.

Connect hose behind firewall to hose in engine bay with steel line. Each steel line protected against hole in firewall with a layer of fuel line and secured with hose clamps and backing washers. Flexible hose would go around each side of engine bay to license plate lid area, then forward to fuel rail.

Steel line w/o washers:

Imagine covered portion of steel line going through firewall hole:

Option #2

A VW fuel rail with inlet/outlet facing the firewall that would fit this engine. One that would accept the Jetta 2.0 FI's.

Does one exist? Maybe a Tiico part?

I was posting on the Tiico list, but was kindly directed to the "Vanagon VAG Engine Conversions - Gas" ( http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/Vanagon-VAG-EngConv/ ). BUT, this a very inactive list.

I'm beginning to see that my conversion could be a lost orphan. Boo hoo. --- ;^)

Thanks for any direction on best way to route fuel lines to current fuel rail, or suggestions on another fuel rail.

Neil.
