It's an 85 with auto transmission. It has a new (4 year old) radiator and I think it's fully bled, no coolant leaks. When the AC cuts out the water temp (as indicated by the gauge which seems accurate) is hot, but not super hot. The AC cutout has happened when the turbo high-speed radiator fan is running, but also when it's merely running at medium speed.

So there's an over-temperature cutout, but there is no over-pressure cutout? I have a vague memory of someone saying there was an over- pressure cutout on the AC system...?
