Interesting. My 85 2wd westy also cuts out when it gets too hot, but "too hot" seems to be about 85 to 95 degrees ambient. It has cut out when the radiator fan is not on the turbo high speed. I think my coolant is bled & topped off, and I have a newish radiator. It is a R134 conversion, so I was suspecting pressure issues, but it sounds like there is no pressure cutout.

Any ideas then as to why my AC cuts out in moderate but not extreme heat? Where is the temp. sensor located? I'm wondering if my system were not 100% bled and there was an inch or two of vapor at the top of the radiator, would that trigger a false "over temp" signal?
