I'm in the middle of doing this now. All you have to do is pull the cover off of the instrument cluster (like you would to check the brake fluid), remove 4 screws, disconnect the speedometer cable and wiring connectors for the cluster, and pull the instrument cluster out. It should take about a minute to do that much. After that, the master cylinder is very easy to access.
