All of the talk of fuel lines got me thinking. A few years ago I picked up several feet of fuel line from Bow Wow in Seattle. It is rubber with black cloth braid over the outside. This line seems similar to the line that is on my 86, but not as heavy and doesn't seem to be as good quality. I'm in the middle of replacing the engine and clutch on my 82, and noticed that the line is very heavy and is sort of a reinforced molded rubber type, where the "braid" is molded directly into the rubber. The old line is in very good shape compared to the outside cloth braided type in my 85. It still had fuel pressure in the line after sitting for about a year and a half! Do any of the regular list vendors carry this heavy-duty type line? I don't need very much, the AC fuel system is different and seems to mostly be steel line. |
