Hey volks,
I can't seem to find the site/thread in the archives on the bloke who
velcro'ed a battery/fan to the inside of his fridge. Anyone know: the site
or the thread date? The one I remember involved this OCD type measuring
inner temp, outer temp, fin temp and who knows what else via a LCD above his
left temple in the driver's seat! Think it (site) had pics too.
OR
the answer I'm really searching for is: how to find the smallest battery to
power 12v fans (I'm currently testing a 9v NiMH rechargeable), as well as
the smallest effective fan. RShack sold me a 1.5" muffin fan which seems it
may work but I'd like to learn if anyone has determined the smallest fan
size that achieves acceptable temps. The next size up is about 3.5" but I'm
sure it draws much more current too AND takes up more space in the tiny
fridge. I'm considering testing two 6v 'lantern' cells but haven't seen a
recharger for one or a rechargeable cell either.
Neil, I use a 1.5" muffin fan and hold it on the top of the cooling fins
with tie wraps. Velcro will impede the air flow. I pick up power for that fan
from the power going to the LED / switch panel on the front of the sink
cabinet. I install a switch either on the fridge face plate or on the sink
cabinet face near the LED / switch panel. I like an LED lighted push button
switch so I can tell when the fan's on.
