You can try Stay-lube.

BUT - you say with 'gas sprayed in'
What is it, a tractor with a carb, 
Or fuel injected vanagon ?

That you put fuel down the throat and it fires, confirms that it can run,
But it doesn't confirm that fuel is being delivered under pressure to the
injectors.

What I would do, IF its' a vanagon, is run it off a separate can of new gas.
I do this all the time.

You take the fuel line into the fuel pump and stick that in your can of gas.
Sometimes it's hard to get the siphon going, the pump can't pump air  at
all, only liquid. I have a 'twist turn thing' that is a siphon starter -
most valuable.
And you undo the fuel return and stick that in the can of gas.
Then you get it running properly on this fuel source. And you have a running
van with a fuel tank of bum gas.

I'd pump that out into other gas cans, but fresh fuel in the tank,
Switch back to running off the tank,

And gradually add a gallon of two of old fuel ( like once a week ) until it
was used up.

Its about five years old.  I was trying to start up one of my old projects
but it does not start with its own gas.  Got fuel pressure, spark and air,
and timing.  It starts with new gas sprayed in though.  
So, I think, I must put something in the tank to help it.
Any of you know what it is I must buy for it?
