I'm looking at the usual vendors online and had a  question.  According
to Bus Depot, a rear axle bearing and seal kit  fits all buses from
'71-'91.  On the other hand CIP says the kits are  different for Bays
then Vanagons - and they don't have a listing for  Vanagon.

So, if anyone could tell me who is right that would be  greatly
appreciated.  I'd hate to order the kit from Bus Depot and  find that it
is only for Bays.







Andrew,  I'm not sure if those rear axle bearing kits are good for bays and
Vanagons but  I have the correct ones for Vanagons.  From my _Vanagon Items

Bearing kit, rear wheel, (1) 211 501 283D, (1) 211 501 287, (2) 211 501  317,
(1) cotter pin  -  $45.90.

You need two kits for each van.  Also check the spacer which  is in between
the two bearings.  It is critical that it is the proper  length.  Those spacers
are only available from VW.  The length is on  my listing for that spacer >
